Deputy CM Alla Nani praises Mayor's rule
Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani is all praise for mayor Shaik Noorjahan Pedababu for her 'corruption-free' transparent rule. He attended as chief guest for the meeting held to mark end of tenure of Eluru Municipal Corporation council here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nani said that the mayor couple would remain ideal for others in the state. He appreciated them for spending the amount from their allowances and benefits for the good of the poor. He handed over cheques worth Rs 2 lakh to students gifted by the mayor from her annual honorarium.
Nani said that people of the city were happy with the rule of the mayor who did not allow corruption during her term. Without expecting anything, the mayor had become a role model by spending from her pocket for the welfare of the poor.
Mayor Noorjahan Pedababu, in her address, said that she was very much satisfied with the five year rule. She said she developed the city by spending Rs 200 crore. She announced that she donated her honorary pay of Rs 10 lakh during the last five years to the poor and promised to do so in future also.
