Chandrababu condoles death of YT Raja, says Ex-MLA strove for Tanuku area development
Amaravati: TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday expressed his condolences over the death of Tanuku former MLA YT Raja.
Mr Naidu said that the former legislator made untiring efforts for the all round development of the Tanuku area. His contributions as the MLA were unforgettable.
In a statement here, Mr Naidu said that the death of YT Raja caused an irreparable loss to West Godavari district and also to the Telugu Desam Party. The TDP chief conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family members and admirers of the departed leader.
YT Raja has died after suffering illness at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday morning. Raja has recently been infected with the coronavirus and has recovered, however he fell sick despite cured from coronavirus. With this he went to Hyderabad for medical examination and was hospitalised where his health was deteriorated as treatment continued. The family members said that the doctors' efforts to revive him had failed.
Raja was the Tanuku MLA from 1999 to 2004 and also served as president of Consumers Co-operative Stores. However, he contested from the TDP in the 2004 and 2009 elections but lost by a narrow margin. However, he did not get a ticket in the 2014 elections. He has kept himself out of politics ever since.
