Banks achieve 89.9 % credit target in State

Amaravati: Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha, addressing the 206th State-level Bankers Conference (SLBC) here on Tuesday, suggested that they provide better services to people. SLBC convener K S D Sivaprasad told the meeting that the bankers had achieved 80.37 per cent of the target by December 31, 2018 by extending loans worth Rs 81, 632 crore to agriculture sector out of the target of Rs 1,02, 564 crore. He said that they had achieved 92.93 per cent of the target by way of granting loans to the micro, small and medium industries.

He said that the bankers have achieved 89.90 per cent of the target by extending Rs 1,74,604 crore as against the target of Rs 1,94,220 crore to all the sectors by December 31, 2018.Chief Secretary Punetha and Reserve Bank of India regional director Subhrato Das presented the awards to the bank officers who achieved better results.

Special chief secretary of the revenue department Manmohan Singh, principal secretary of social welfare department SS Rawat, special secretary of finance department K V V Satyanarayana, Nabard chief general manager Suresh Kumar and several higher officials were present.
