Ayurveda derived from Vedas: TTD JEO
Tirupati: TTD Joint Executive Officer B Lakshmikantham said on Sunday that Ayurveda was an ancient Indian science derived from the Atharwana Veda for the well-being of mankind.
Addressing the 36th anniversary of the TTD run Sri SV Ayurveda Medical College as chief guest on Sunday, the JEO said Ayurveda medicine had gained popularity and devoid of any side effects.
He said another OP block will be set up in the College hospital in view of its popularity and a new compound wall and arch will be constructed. Assuring students of good employment opportunities, he urged them to focus on studies. Earlier the Principal of the College Dr A Shankarbabu said in the annual report that so far 30 batches of students had completed their courses and were employed in private and government hospitals across the country. Presently 255 students including 38 girl students were accommodated in the TTD hostels.
Presenting annual report Dr V Parvati Devi, superintendent of SV Ayurveda Medical College Hospital said 1.40 lakh patients were treated besides 3,286 in patients in 2018-19 and patients have come from Telangana, AP and other states. Sri Lakshmikantham said TTD was striving to procure ISI recognition for the hoospital as it has excelled in providing treatment in all wings of Ayurveda medicine.
He also distributed prizes and trophies to winners of sports, essay writing and other competitionsDr Renu Dixit, Dr P Murali Krishna, Dr KV Vijayabhaskar Reddy, and students' union representative Dr T Narendra Kumar participated in the event.
