11 robbers held, booty worth 18.90L recovered
Guntur: The Tenali police on Saturday arrested an 11-member robbery gang in connection with a case and recovered 509 grams gold ornaments, two cars and three cell phones from their possession.
According to police, the value of property seized is estimated at Rs18.90 lakh.
According to Rural SP Ch Vijaya Rao, accused Nakka Siva Kumar mortgaged gold ornaments with Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao of Tenali town and had taken loan of Rs 18.90 lakh from him.
On February 20, Nakka Siva Kumar had telephoned to Srinivasa Rao and informed that he will pay the amount and requested him to bring ornaments to his residence at Ithanagar in Tenali. Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao along with his two friends went to Nakka Siva Kumar's house with ornaments.
As soon as they reached Siva Kumar's residence, a 12-member gang engaged by him, attacked Srinivasa Rao and his friends with sticks. They took gold ornaments and their cell phones and absconded. Based on the
complaint lodged by Srinivasa Rao, the police registered a case and took up investigation.
The police arrested Nakka Siva Kumar and another 10 accused in robbery in Tenali town and recovered the property worth Rs 18.90 lakh from their possession.
