We have seen many Television series and web series coming out lately and there are many others in the pipeline. Cometh the September-October period, we will have big TV channels coming up with their famous shows and there are several Netflix/Prime shows coming out too. But HBO still has the capacity to surprise us with their hard hitting content.
Chernobyl is the latest example of such a gut wrenching experience. The 1986 Nuclear Plant tragedy in Ukraine, then part of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, left many people wonder if Nuclear energy is the right way to move forward. Japan, Korea, China, few areas in USA are using controlled Nuclear Fission reactors to develop electricity and other power needs to depend less on water based electricity and coal based one.
But Chernobyl's explosion recorded how damaging one milligram of Uranium atoms can be and the radioactive waste has turned a flourishing city into a great cemetry that no one will ever look to even enter. After 33 years, the situation is slowly changing there but what really happened and how it all transpired? We have a mini series that documents all that in an intriguing fashion with characters we can hate and love.
It is hard to not binge watch the mini-series and complete it at a time, but we would love to give you episode wise analysis and a complete season review too. The start of the series is excellent in an hour 20 minutes long episode and rather than giving you all the details that could end up being spoilers, we will keep it cryptic in the episode reviews and at the end of the full season review, we can have a detailed discussion.
For the first episode, the start is super good and it pulls you right into it. The series has an unique tone in the way it dramatises real events and we are intrigued. In the next one, we will discuss more details about how the characters are evolving and how the technical details have changed too. We definitely recommend this one.
