The season 2 looks to improve on the opener but still the Guruji angle seems a bit too forced for us to care for it much. The flashbacks and Gaitonde's journey work for major parts but they don't really gel into the mileu of the entire story as seamlessly as writers thought.

The execution of several ideas feel like rushed and delivered at first draft level only. Even the pacing looks like a big let down as the series tries hard to include the mind bending philosophy of Guruji which seems too dumb and too unilateral.

Gaitonde's end and Sartaj's journey were paralleled but the story is not seamless and we find it too much of a trouble for nothing. In a doomsday situation, the mythological insertions just seem too much of a farce than a strong thought that was worked into the script after careful examination of everything.

Even the execution of the ideas is repetitive and not captivating enough to keep us engaged in the story for the entire part. Mostly, the directors seems to have lost the path in trying to find the right mix and it is evident that the story had much better depth that was left unexplored.

Also, the way the writers tried to end it ambiguously, one feels like the story idea was fine for one season and they unnecessarily stretched so much.

While the conviction of the makers in bringing everything to a halt at a cliffhanger situation is understandable their ambition seems too high and they were too short to reach it. The acting was also not upto the mark as in the first season.
