The third phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections were concluded peacefully in Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial and Komaram Bheem-Asifabad districts on Tuesday.

Adilabad: The third phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections were concluded peacefully in Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial and Komaram Bheem-Asifabad districts on Tuesday.

Elections were conducted to 19 ZPTC and 94 MPTC seats, whose fate would be decided by 4,70,000 voters across the four districts. One ZPTC of Jainur mandal, Asifabad district was unanimous where TRS candidate Kova Lakshmi won.

In Adilabad district, elections were held in six mandals for six ZPTC seats for which 30 candidates were in the fray and for 58 MPTC seats for which 24 MPTC candidates contested. 1,39,420 voters exercised their votes at 308 polling stations in the district.

In Nirmal district, polls were conducted in five mandals - Basara, Mudhole, Tanuru, Kubeer and Bhainsa. For the five ZPTC seats, 21 candidates contested and for the 52 MPTC posts 178 were in the fray. A total of 1,35,823 people voted at 288 polling stations in the district.

In Mancherial district, elections were conducted in four mandals for four ZPTC members for which 17 candidates were in the fray and for 46 MPTC seats 139 candidate were in the race. A total of 1,28,034 voters exercised their vote at 265 polling stations.

In Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district, territorial constituency polls were held for four ZPTC posts for which 26 candidates were in the fray and for 36 MPTC seats, 160 candidates were in contesting. Polls were held in 187 polling stations.

Elections were held 7 am to 4 pm in Komaram Bheem-Asifabad and Mancherial districts for security reasons while it was held from 7 am to 5 pm in Adilabad and Nirmal districts.
