Nehru Zoological Park veterinary staff at last caught the young male leopard in the early morning hours on Wednesday, which had made the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) it's home.

Hyderabad: Nehru Zoological Park veterinary staff at last, caught the young male leopard in the early morning hours on Wednesday, which had made the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) it's home.

Since February from ICRISAT area the leopard was foraying into other areas due to which the institute's staff and forest department officials searching for it and spending sleepless nights. Since it's movements were also noticed in the Greyhounds complex near Narsingi, the commandos were also alerted.

According to Zoo Park officials, the leopard after spending a few weeks in the Greyhounds complex area in the late-night hours Tuesday it returned to ICRISAT campus again. The Zoo Park veterinary staff who were already in preparation to catch the leopard tranquillized it, when it came nearer to a baited goat which was tied by the Zoo staff to trap the leopard. After tranquillizing drugs, the immobilized leopard was placed in a trap cage and shifted to the zoo. The officials said that the leopard is in a healthy condition without any injuries.
