Mahbubnagar: While there is water all over in some parts of erstwhile Mahbubnagar, women in Old Bazar in Jadcherla constituency have come out staging a protest at Gandhi statue against the municipal authorities for not supplying drinking water.
"It has been more than 12 days now the municipal authorities have stopped supply of drinking water to our colony. As no one is heeding to our requests, we are forced to come out to protest against the officials and the local leaders," said a protesting woman.
In spite of repeated requests, the municipal authorities' nonchalance towards the issue has forced the women of Old Bazar to take to streets.
The protesting women blocked the roads and raised slogans against the officials and the local MLA for not providing water. "We have been facing a tough time as our colony is not being supplied drinking water for the last 12 days. We have lodged many complaints with the authorities but no one is heeding to our requests and solving our problems," said the protesting women.
