Karimnagar: The members of Civil Liberties Committee (CLC) demanded the government withdrawal of suspension orders issued against Lateef Mohammad Khan, Government School headmaster and Civil Liberties and Monitoring Committee (CLMC) leader.

Speaking at a press meet in Karimnagar on Tuesday, CLC members alleged that the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao are suppressing the voice of various people's organisations and behaving like a monarch in the State.

As a responsible citizen and CLMC leader, Lateef Mohammad Khan has been fighting against the government for arresting Muslim youth illegally, who are spending their life in prison for no reason.

It is the responsibility of an educated person to question the government if it did wrong, the same is done by Lateef Khan. Lateef had questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not fulfilling the poll promises and suggested the people to question him and the TRS leaders, when they come to ask for votes and posted a video on social media platforms, CLC members explained.

'The government stated it is a crime for a government school teacher to post such videos against the government and suspended Lateef,' they said.

The Constitution of India has provided right to freedom of speech and any citizen can express any ideas and can question anyone in the democratic country like India. Even the Health Minister also in a recent meeting, suggested the people to question for the betterment of society. But the KCR's government is suppressing such voice, they alleged.

They demanded that the government should withdraw suspension order immediately, otherwise they would take up massive agitation to teach the government a fitting lesson.

CLC members M Kumara Swamy, A Malla Reddy, GAV Prasad, V Bala Reddy, P Rajesham, Marwadi Sudarshan were present along with others.
