With heavy inflows from Tungabhadra river in Alampur constituency of Gadwal district, after over a long gap of many years, the gates of Rajoli Banda Diversion Scheme (RDS) canal were opened on Tuesday bringing cheers to the farmers of RDS canal ayacut in Alampur and Ieja mandals of Gadwal district.

Gadwal: With heavy inflows from Tungabhadra river in Alampur constituency of Gadwal district, after over a long gap of many years, the gates of Rajoli Banda Diversion Scheme (RDS) canal were opened on Tuesday bringing cheers to the farmers of RDS canal ayacut in Alampur and Ieja mandals of Gadwal district.

Alampur MLA VM Abraham visited Sindanor village and opened the RDS canal gates and released water into the canal. Later, the MLA offered prayers to the flowing waters in the canal. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said, "With good inflows into Jurala project, we have got adequate water for irrigating the ayacut under the RDS canal.

We have opened the gates and released water to irrigate thousands of acres in Ieja and Alampur mandals. We are hoping good cropping season this time as farming activity has already begun on a largescale in the constituency."
