Warangal: Scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir is a silver lining for India, former MP and senior BJP leader Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar said. Addressing a press conference at the party's Warangal Urban District office here on Monday, he said that the whole world is looking at India, so were the people in the country as the BJP-led Central government took a bold step to introduce Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill in the Parliament.
"This is something the country has been waiting for the last several decades. The Union Cabinet headed by Narendra Modi decided to reassert that J&K is integral part of India. It's indeed a tribute to the sacrifices of BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee and thousands of jawans," Ananda Bhaskar said.
He said that the Centre's move would augur well for the Kashmiris and now they can claim proudly as Indians. The people in Kashmir valley would enjoy the fruits of country's development, he said. Celebrations erupted in the country following the Centre's move, he added. He expressed confidence that the political acumen of Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah would not only ensure peace in Kashmir valley but also pave way for all round development.
Referring to BJP's membership drive in Telangana, the former MP said that the party is getting a huge response from all walks of life especially youth and women. "With its focus is on empowering Adivasis and Dalits, the downtrodden sections of the society, the BJP alone has the capability of reconstructing Telangana," Ananda Bhaskar said, pointing to the huge patronage to BJP's membership drive.
Warangal Urban District party president Rao Padma Reddy, Kolanu Santhosh Reddy, Sangani Jagadeeshwar, Mandala Suresh and Rao Amarender Reddy were among others present. Meanwhile, the BJP leaders distributed sweets inviting Centre's decision – scrapping of Article 370.
