Warangal: Now, a walk to explore nature
In a bid to create awareness among the people about the importance of wildlife and conservation of natural resources, the Forest Department has organised nature walk / trekking at Inuparathiguttalu reserve forest area in Warangal Urban district and Kongala under Wajedu mandal in Mulugu district on Friday.
Warangal/Mulugu: In a bid to create awareness among the people about the importance of wildlife and conservation of natural resources, the Forest Department has organised nature walk / trekking at Inuparathiguttalu reserve forest area in Warangal Urban district and Kongala under Wajedu mandal in Mulugu district on Friday.
It may be mentioned here that forest department was organising several programmes as part of 65th Wildlife Week celebrations from October 2 to 8.
Inuparathiguttalu forest area was abuzz with nature and wildlife lovers, environmentalists and scores of people from NIT, Kakatiya University and other institutions. The trek was organised by the Warangal Urban District Forest Department, which is promoting ecotourism in the reserve forest spread across Dharmasagar mandal.
Elsewhere at Kongala village, around 30 doctors from Hyderabad and Warangal participated in the trekking organised by the forest department. It was an excellent experience for the doctors, who headed to forest area trudging through huge swathes of agriculture fields.
The trek was carried under the aegis of Mulugu Ecotourism coordinator Kalyanapu Suman. During the trek, he explained about the flora and fauna in the forest. He also explained them about the importance of plants that have medicinal value.
Suman urged the team members not to strewn plastic-made carry bags and wrappers in the forest area and explained about their adverse effects on wildlife. The members, who covered many streams and water bodies during their six-kilometre trek, in addition to a hidden waterfall known as Dusapatiloddi, said that it was a lifetime experience. Later, the group went to Eturnagaram reserve forest.
