Warangal: Faculty Development Programme to focus on advanced Internet of Things
he two-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical System Division (ICPSD) got underway at the Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) here on Thursday.
Warangal: The two-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical System Division (ICPSD) got underway at the Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) here on Thursday.
The programme was inaugurated by Kakatiya University Registrar Prof K Purushotham and NIT Prof P Radha Krishna.
Prof Purushottam exhorted the faculty to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments in their respective disciplines. Unless the teacher was equipped properly, quality of education of cannot be given to the students.
In the age of competition, the teachers should first learn and learning should be a continuous activity.
"Unlike in the past, now the technology is changing very fast. Sometimes the developments last few weeks or few days before they get replaced by another innovation. If the teachers lag behind, they cannot rise up to the expectations of the students and society," he observed.
Prof Radha Krishna said the objective of the FDP was to provide a platform for building a perfect bridge between research and its real time applications of IoT. The technical ways and smart solutions would solve the issues of the upcoming smart cities.
Stating that the FDP titled "Advances in Internet of Things (A-IoT)" would be held till December 22, Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy urged the faculty to create a learning environment for student community. "Every participant in the FDP should volunteer themselves of "Anti Plagiarism moment agent", he said.
According to HoD of CSE Prof V Shankar, This FDP will cover the basic and advanced technology that helps us to understand and build applications using IoT with an emphasis on research trends; to serve as platform to train and educate participants to interact cutting edge technologies of IoT.
Convener and Prof P Niranjan, Coordinators and Assistant professors B Hanmanthu and B Raghu Ram, organising committee members and Associate professors: S Nagaraju, C Srinivas, S Venkatramulu, Dr V Chandra Sekhar Rao and Dr S Narsimha Reddy and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were present.
