Warangal: District Central Cooperative Bank directors elected unopposed
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which asserted its supremacy in the recently held elections to the Primary Cooperative Agricultural Societies (PACS), on Tuesday furthered its progress by ensuring unanimity in the nominations for the 20-member managing committee that elect the Chairman of the District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB).
Warangal: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which asserted its supremacy in the recently held elections to the Primary Cooperative Agricultural Societies (PACS), on Tuesday furthered its progress by ensuring unanimity in the nominations for the 20-member managing committee that elect the Chairman of the District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB).
Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Minister for Tribal Welfare and Women Development Satyavathi Rathod, who closeted with the TRS legislators of the erstwhile Warangal district at the Haritha Hotel here on Tuesday, ensured that there would be no contest for the 20 Director posts. In fact, three of the Director posts left vacant due to non-availability of two candidates in SC (general) in Group – A and one in ST (general) in Group – B reservation categories.
It may be noted here that while the Group–A has 16 Director posts elected from the 90 PACS chairmen, the Group-B has four from non-cooperative societies such as handlooms, sheep rearers etc.
Among these directors, a chairman and a vice-chairman of the DCCB would be elected on February 29. The vacant director posts will be filled later as per the directions of the government.
The elected managing committee members of the DCCB are - Madgula Ramesh, S Kishan Naik, N Ranjith, D Ramesh, K Venkateshwar Reddy, Kandi Srinivas Reddy, Ch Muralidhar, S Narsinga Rao, E Gopal Rao, K Upender Reddy, Gundreddy Rajeshwar Reddy, Marneni Ravinder Rao, Ch Yadagiri Reddy, K Hariprasad, P Srinivas, Y Raviraju, A Jaganmohan Rao.
On the other hand, the nominations for the Orugallu District Cooperative Marketing Society (ODCMS) also ended on unanimous note. With no representation as per election criteria, three of the 10 Director posts of the ODCMS have been left vacant. The seven Directors will elect their Chairman and Vice-chairman on February 29.
The Directors elected for the ODCMS are - Guguloth Ramaswamy, K Janardhan, G Satyanarayana Reddy, D Srinivas Reddy, G Nagaiah, V Janardhan and A Srinivas Reddy. Meanwhile, speculation is rife that TRS leadership has already finalised the name of Marneni Ravinder Rao who is elected from Nandanam PACS for the DCCB Chairman post. Nimmagadda Venkanna, Kandi Srinivas Reddy and Gundreddy Rajeshwar Reddy are among other aspirants for the coveted post.
