Warangal: 80 families get double bedroom houses

Warangal: The TRS government, which tackled major problems such as power, drinking water and irrigation, made it possible that Telangana forge ahead of all the States in the country, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. Addressing a gathering after distributing double bedroom houses to the beneficiaries at Ramachandrapuram village under Sangem mandal in Warangal Rural district on Wednesday, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who ensured 24-hour power supply besides completing Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIP) in a record time, introduced several welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima for the upliftment of farmers.

He criticised the Opposition, especially Congress and BJP, accusing them of hampering irrigation projects. "The BJP leaders, who claim flow of abundant funds from the Central government, need to know that it was just giving Rs 200 crore for pension scheme whereas the State government's share was Rs 9,800 crore," the Minister said.

Referring to the Palle Pragathi programme, he said that government's aim was to turn gram panchayats self-sufficient. He appealed to people to extend their support in turning the State into Green Telangana by taking up plantation drive massively.

On the occasion, the Minister distributed 80 double bedroom houses built at a cost of Rs 5 crore. He also distributed tractors to gram panchayats. Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Jyothi and Rural Collector M Haritha were among others present.
