A woman ragpicker suffered serious injuries in a blast in a garbage pile at Vijaya Nagar colony in Meerpet. She was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The woman is yet to be identified.
The police said that the blast occurred when the woman tried to open a container filled with a chemical substance. The clues team also rushed to the spot and are collecting the details.
In a similar case, a scrap worker was killed and two others were injured in an explosion in a scrap shop in Suryapet. The mishap occurred when the workers were cutting disposed plastic cans containing chemical solvents.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Sahu and injured identified as Bujjamma and Salman.
