TRS leaders boast of welfare schemes at Independence Day celebrations
Nalgonda/Suryapet/Yadadri-Bhongir: Patriotic fervour marked the 73rd Independence Day celebrations across Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts on Thursday.
While Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Nethi Vidyasagar hoisted the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds in Nalgonda, Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Zilla Parishad Chairman Alimineti Sandeep Reddy unfurled the tricolour in parade grounds of Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts respectively.
Addressing the gathering after receiving the guard of honour, the leaders listed out the developmental works completed and the welfare schemes introduced for the people.
They added that the State has been witnessing rapid progress for the last five years in all aspects and attracting the attention of all States in the country.
The leaders, besides throwing light on government flagship programmes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and Haritha Haram, explained the people about the completed and ongoing irrigation projects and schemes including 24-hour power supply to agriculture sector, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, fish seedlings, sheep distribution, enhanced Aasara pensions, 2 BHK houses, KCR Kits, establishment of Gurukul schools besides setting up of new medical colleges and development of hospitals.
Employees of various departments were given appreciation certificates for recognition of their services on the occasion. Meanwhile, scores of children representing different schools presented the cultural programmes depicting the freedom movement and the culture and tradition of both the nation and the State. Later, cheques were distributed to scheme beneficiaries. The tableaux of various departments illustrated the ongoing development and welfare activities to people.
District Collectors Gaurav Uppal, Amoy Kumar and Anitha Ramachandran, SPs R Venkateshwarlu and AV Ranganath, DCP Narayana Reddy, Zilla Parishad chairpersons Banda Narender Reddy and Gujja Deepika, MLAs Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Bhaskar Rao, Gadari Kishore and Shekar Reddy and other public representatives, district officials, school students and general public took part in the celebrations.
