The Left party leaders along with the leaders of Forward Block tried to lay siege to the house of BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar here on Thursday, in protest against the illegal arrests of the leaders of RTC unions and Opposition parties.
Speaking on the occasion, Srujan Kumar alleged that the government is arrogant in taking initiation to open a discussion with the RTC union leaders, even after High Court issued orders.
The TRS government is trying to create panic among the leaders of Opposition parties and RTC unions by arresting them illegally. He even alleged that the arrested leaders were being abused while taking them to police station to demoralise them. People are watching every move of the TRS government and are ready to teach a fitting lesson in the days to come, if the government do not mend its ways, Srujan Kumar warned.
The CPI leader demanded the government to fulfil all the demands of RTC employees along with merging the RTC with the government. He appealed the people of all sections to participate in the State-wide bandh organised by RTC-JAC on October 19 and make it a grand success.
Meanwhile, the police prevented the left party leaders, who were trying to siege Minister Gangula's house and arrested the leaders, who were later shifted to the Police Training Centre.
Left party leaders G Lakshmi, K Manikanta Reddy, B Sada Shiva, M Ramesh, K Buchanna, Kinnera, Mallamma, Santosh Chary, B Shekar, G Satyam, S Rajinikanth, Rakesh, Ajay were among those who were present.
