Transport Minister distributes Bathukamma saris in Khammam

Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar participated in various programmes here in Khammam district on Monday. He distributed Bathukamma saris to women in Khammam and Paleru constituencies along with local legislative members.

Speaking at the programme, the Minister said in Paleru constituency nearly ninety thousand saris are being distributed. He appealed to the people to celebrate the festival with gaiety and fervour. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was giving gifts to all the women in the State on the occasion of Dasara. He said only one State in the country implemented the scheme of distributing saris to women. He said the government is giving new clothes to people from different faiths for their festivals.

He said the government is giving importance to the welfare schemes. He called on the people of the district to celebrate the festival on a grand note. He said the 30 days action plan in villages was conducted by the government for the development of villages. He appealed to the people to support the programme and make it a grand success. He said after the completion of the programme, the faces of villages would be changed. Zilla Parishad Chairman L Kamal Raju, MLC B Laxmi Narayana, MLA K Upender Reddy, Collector R V Karnan, Mayor Papalal and other leaders and district officers attended the programme.
