Hyderabad: Three villages in Telangana will soon turn 100 per cent digital under a pilot project taken up by the state government to digitise all services, including the local administration in these three villages of Sircilla, Ranga Reddy and Kamareddy districts.
Under the programme, all activities in the village would be online making it easy for the villagers to get various services. The services of gram panchayats, health, education and payments would be online in the digital villages.
According officials, the Information Technology and Panchayat Raj departments are working in coordination to create the digital villages. The officials said Jillela village in Sircilla district, Mansanipalli in Ranga Reddy and Baswapur village in Kamareddy districts have been selected for the pilot project.
The digital service centres have started working in these villages and the officials have been monitoring the performance and issues involved in the delivery of online services.
The service centres have been provided with computers, fans, ACs and internet connections. Youth with computer knowledge have been selected to run them.
Through the digital village centre, all services of gram panchayats like building construction and lay out permissions, issue of certificates, etc would be provided.
The ANMs of the villages would provide health services from these centres. They will check sugar and BP levels and would provide medicines to the needy.
Under the education services, video lessons would be provided to the students of the schools. A video conference facility has been provided for administrative purposes.
About Rs 1.20 crore each has been provided to the three digital villages where the pilot project has been initiated to procure computers and other paraphernalia to run the centre.
Already the government is implementing the e-Panchayat services in most of the villages. The activities of the Gram Panchayat offices are being recorded online for ensuring transparency.
