V Care does it again. In association with Eleven Point Two, V Care organised 'Colors with KS Chitra', a live concert by the legendary playback singer with around 40 years of singing career in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Tulu.
Singer Chitra began the 3-hour concert with a song from the film, 'Nigama'.
Known for scaling the higher notes of music with ease, Chitra was always given the most melodious and complex compositions by music directors that include top names like Veturi, Ilayaraja, AR Rehman, Keeravani, RP Patnaik Devi Sri Prasad.
Melody, classical base, light breezy and racy numbers – whatever the song, Chitra rendered it as if her voice was made for it, and this has made her the darling of music lovers.
The auditorium of Shilpakalavedika was reverberating with thunderous applause as she sang one popular song after another – from the latest Kathanayakudu 'Rama' and the title song of 'Seethammavakitlo' to the ever popular 'Mounamgane Edagamani', 'Anjali Anjali Pushpaanjali', 'Manaseteeyaga', 'Kallaloki Kallu Petti', 'Emaaye Naa Kavita', 'Kannanule'…When she sang one of her most famous songs from 'Maatrudevobhava' – 'Venuvaivachaanu' and many more hit songs from her heydays with the same energy and aplomb – it was a treat of the finest order for her fans.
She also obliged by singing a couple of Tamil and Kannada songs.
On request she sang a few Hindi classical songs and each time her infectious passion for singing was evident, making her an ideal to gain inspiration from the younger lot.
Accompanying her on stage were young singers, Sri Krishna, Saket, Srividya, and Sony.
The programme was attended by singer Sunita, Anchor Suma, Music directors RP Patnaik, Madhukar, Ramachary and Principal Secretary, Telangana government Jayesh Ranjan.
