Hyderabad: Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali Wednesday inaugurated a new building for Karkhana Police and after inauguration said that Telangana police stood as an ideal for the country by making and controlling law and order. On the occasion, he noted, "As a result, investments are flooding into the State and we are at the forefront of CCTV cameras in the country.
Construction of police stations with modern facilities, new vehicles, and facilities with technology is being provided to the police. Apart from it, the state government is giving high priority to the safety of women and children. Earlier citizens would have to wait for months to get a passport, but with the easy methods adopted by police in background checks, people are able to avail their passports easily."
Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy said that the Police Commissionerate system has been in place in Hyderabad since the time of the Nizam. He stated, "Some Police stations are still running in the buildings set up at that time. After the formation of Telangana, we are setting up new police station buildings. We are thankful to the Cantonment Board for giving land to this police station. The government has allocated a budget for new buildings for a total of 19 police stations in Hyderabad. The first one to be completed is Kharkhana PS and the remaining 18 PS buildings will also be completed at the earliest."
Anjani Kumar, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, noted, "The security situation in Hyderabad is very good and for this reason many international companies are coming to Hyderabad. Research and manufacturing industries are showing interest in Hyderabad along with IT companies."
"In the past, we were given guns after police training was over. But now gadgets are being given. It clearly indicates that we are serving the people through technology along with guns as well. The crime rate in Hyderabad has come down by 10 percent in 2020 as compared to 2019. Murders and attempted murders fall 26 percent. Thefts are down 28 percent. Attacks on women dropped by 19 percent.
A new American company is showing interest in investing $ 150 million. Boeing has already invested. Hyderabad has developed into an international investment hub in Telangana. Hyderabad has earned the reputation of being the safest city for the last six years. In the last six years, we have made many reforms in the police department," added the Commissioner.
The inauguration event was also attended by G Sayanna, MLA, Cantonment, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Ch. Malla Reddy, Minister For Labor & Employment, J Ramakrishna and others.
