Hyderabad: The High Court bench comprising of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy, on Monday, heard a plea filed by Regulapati Ramya Rao with regard to the non-appointment of chairperson for the Women Commission for the State of Telangana and non-functioning of the commission for the last two-and-a-half years.

Further, the petitioner sought the Court to issue necessary directions to the State government for the appointment of chairperson to the Women Commission for the State. Special GP Harender Pershad informed the Court that the TS Women Commission has been appointed on December 27 and Vakiti Sunitha Laxma Reddy has been appointed as its chairperson besides six members to the Commission.

Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan hearing the plea stated that since the Women Commission has been appointed, the matter has become infructuous and the plea was dismissed.
