Suryapet: To put a check on criminals and their illegal activities in Suryapet district, SP Bhaskaran decided to open suspect and trouble monger sheets on persons, involved in illegal transportation and selling banned items. Following the SP's instructions, district crime bureau has been preparing a list of the accused in illegal transportation and sellers of banned items, who had cases on them more than two times in the past three years. The SP is planning to constitute a task force along with excise, civil supplies and drug control officials to curb criminal activities in the district.

Officials felt that illegal selling and transportation of banned gutka, ganja, black jaggery, gudumba production, sand, PDF rice, liquor etc could be controlled through the new anti-criminal programme.

As per official information, police booked as many as 1,580 cases pertaining to illegal transportation of gutka, sand, PDF rice, gudumba and black jaggery in the district in the past three years and arrested as many as 1,580. Of them, 190 accused were booked for more than two times.

Speaking to The Hans India, SP Bhaskaran stated that cops will pay special attention on the movements of history sheeters and they have to attend before the station officer and sign the register.

All the suspected history sheeters must inform the local police whenever they leave out of station. Police will keep an eye on their present lifestyle and financial status. He also informed the department is taking all measures to keep Suryapet district as a safe place to live-in. Meanwhile, district police have been giving counseling to 370 rowdy sheeters in the district, so that they would give up their criminal activities.
