Sportspersons celebrate Kaloji Narayana Rao Jayanti in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: The District Sports and Youth Department in Mahbubnagar celebrated the birth anniversary of noted Telangana poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on Monday. Taking part in the celebrations, District Sports and Youth Officer Satyavani said that Kaloji Narayana Rao was the first poet who identified the need to express the true Telangana dialect in his poetry.

He was the first literary poet in Telangana who exposed the suppressive attitudes of the successive governments that damaged the Telangana culture, history and tradition.

"It is a great pride for us to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kaloji Narayana Rao, the great poet of Telangana, who had inspired millions of people to raise their voices against suppression and for their rights," said the DYSO. Along with the DYSO, coaches, athletes and mentors of various sports in the district took part in the programme.
