Temples across the state have been re-opened after performing special rituals in the wake of the solar eclipse that occurred between 10 am to 2 pm. While a few temples allowed the devotees on Sunday evening, other temples were re-opened on Monday morning.

Priests allowed the devotees after performing rituals such as Shuddi and Samprokshan. Vishesha Punyavachanam and Mahanivedana were also performed.

MV Soundarajan, chief priest of the famous Balaji temple in Chilkur said that eclipse brings a lot of benefits. When performing 'japam' during the eclipse, spiritual energies grow in the people. Taking a dip in sacred lakes and rivers before and after the eclipse will give positive energy, he said. However, the Chilkur temple was not opened even after the eclipse in the view of the rise in coronavirus cases in the city.

Famous temples like Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, Sri Laxminarsimha Swamy temple in Dharmapuri and Sri Hanuman temple in Kondagattu, opened on Monday morning.
