Section 144 imposed around TS High Court
Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad on Tuesday imposed Section 144 and restricted holding of public meetings, processions, demonstrations, etc in the nearby area of the High Court.
Hyderabad: Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad on Tuesday imposed Section 144 and restricted holding of public meetings, processions, demonstrations, etc in the nearby area of the High Court.
Any type of meetings without prior permission shall be liable for punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and as per the provisions of Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli from Tuesday to January 4, 2020.
He said, holding of any public meeting, assembly of five or more persons, carrying fire-arms, banners, placards, lathis, spears, swords, sticks, brickbats, etc., shouting of slogans, making of speeches, taking out processions, demonstrations and picketing or dharnas in any public place within the areas of northern side of the High Court building: City College Junction to Nayapul Road.
On the southern side of the High Court building: Madina Circle to City College Road and its three by-lanes leading to Ghansi Bazaar and other three by-lanes leading to Patel Market. Nayapul – Madina Circle – High Court Road; Pathergatti – Madina Circle – High Court Road; Muslim Jung Bridge Circle to High Court Road; Puranapul – PTO – City College Crossroads – High Court Road and Moosa Bowli – Mehandi – City College Crossroads – High Court Road without a written permission shall be liable for punishment.
He also said religious functions, rallies, public meeting etc in the above specified areas can be held with prior written permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, Hyderabad well in advance.
