Sarpanches should play a key role in making the villages green, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said at an awareness programme on the implementation of 30-day village panchayat action plan organised for public representatives and officials at BLN Gardens here on Thursday.
Nizamabad: Sarpanches should play a key role in making the villages green, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said at an awareness programme on the implementation of 30-day village panchayat action plan organised for public representatives and officials at BLN Gardens here on Thursday. Stating that Sarpanch is the first citizen of the village like the President who is the first citizen of the country, he asked them to work towards the development of villages, sanitation and other development works.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced that Rs 339 crores will be released to villages every month. Sarpanches should prepare an action plan on spending the funds on various development programmes, he said.
District Collector M Rammohan Rao said the 30-day action plan was initiated by the Chief Minister for the comprehensive development of villages. There are four standing committees in the village to be elected by the village councils. The Collector stated that these standing committees have to manage cemeteries, streetlights and Haritha Harm programmes.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Dadannagari Vital Rao said that officials, public representatives and people should work as a team to make the village and the district ideal. Gandhiji's dreams will come true when all become equal financially. The district is likely to get a grant of Rs 10 crore, he added.
District Forest Officer Sunil, Power Department SE Sudarshan, District Panchayat Officer Jayasudha, Zilla Parishad CEO Govind, DRDO Ramesh Rathod, Zilla Parishad vice-chairperson Rajitha, Mandala Parishad, ZPTCs MPDOs, MPOs and others were present at the awareness programme.
