Rangareddy: Prominent BJP State working committee members, Nelli Sri Vardhan Reddy and AndeBabaiah voiced their support for the declaration of the cow as the national animal on Tuesday.The discussion gained traction with the arrival of Balakrishna Guruswamy, founder and president of Akhil Bharata Go Seva foundation, who is leading a padayatra of 20,000 kms from Hyderabad Mahankali Ujjain to Tirupati to advocate for this cause, which resonates with many.
During their stop at Janampet near the Venkateswara temple, the event was graced by State executive members NelliSrivardhan Reddy, AndeBabaiah, and Bandaru Ramesh of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
The Swamis, led by Balakrishna Guruswami, were welcomed with traditional pujas, and several individuals including BJP leaders Chetla Venkatesh, Malchalam Murali, Chittem Lakshmi Kanth Reddy, KudumulaBalaraj, Arvind, Shyamsundar, Mallesh, Subbu, and others.
Expressing his views, Nelli Sri Vardhan Reddy highlighted the need to safeguard cultural values and traditions in the post-independence era. He noted that our culture has faced challenges in the name of secularism while emphasising that previous generations have valiantly fought to protect our heritage. AndeBabaiah, echoing the sentiments of many, stressed the crucial role of farmers in the country’s backbone and drew parallels between a farmer and a cow.
He discussed the negative impact of toxic pesticides and fertilisers used in agriculture, leading to the disappearance of numerous life forms on earth. As a solution, he advocated for the protection of cows and the declaration of the cow as the national animal.
