The Police Commissioner of Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat on Thursday had a face to face interaction with the villagers of Hajipur village, in wake of capital punishment pronounced to the accused Srinivas Reddy, by 1st ADJ and POCSO court, Nalgonda.

Hyderabad: The Police Commissioner of Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat on Thursday had a face to face interaction with the villagers of Hajipur village, in wake of capital punishment pronounced to the accused Srinivas Reddy, by 1st ADJ and POCSO court, Nalgonda.

The accused committed serial rapes and murdered young girls from the village. While interacting with the villagers, the Commissioner assured that, 15 schoolgirls will be given cycles, as they are unable to commute to school due to the distance.

The Commissioner noted, "It is the responsibility of each and every villager to stay alert and inform the police if they find any suspicious activity in the village." The accused Srinivas Reddy was a serial rapist and killer, who committed multiple crimes in the village of Hajipur.

He was a drug addict and would lure the school going girls to drop them to their homes and while the girls would hitch hike his bike, he took them to a nearby well and committed the offence.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by the Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat to investigate the murders and while investigation; the cops got hold of the accused and produced him before the magistrate.

The accused was later on sentenced to capital punishment and life imprisonment.
