Projects in Nalgonda dist brimming with inflows
Several irrigation projects in Nalgonda district were brimming with water and majority villages in the erstwhile Nalgonda district witnessed light to moderate rains for the past 24 hours.

Shaligouraram project in the district is in full swing as Musi River was overflowing due to the heavy rains in the upper stream. At present, the project water level was 21 feet.
The Musi project is likely to get heavy inflow in the wake of heavy rains in Hyderabad due to the impact of Gulab cyclone. The officials have lifted six crust gates of the project by four feet and released 10884.04 cusecs of water into the river. 299.44 cusecs of water was released to left and right canals of the project. An inflow of 8946.10 cusecs was recorded.
At present, the water storage of Musi reservoir was 641.20 feet (3.50 TMC) against the full tank level of 645 feet (4.46 TMC), Project Assistant Engineer Uday Kumar informed.
About 16096 cusecs of water was released through two crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar dam. The reservoir's present water storage level was 589.50 feet (310.5510 TMC) against full tank level of 590 feet (312.4050 TMC).
As much as 8298 cusecs of water was being released to right canal, 1800 cusecs to SLBC and 32561 cusecs to the main hydropower plant. There is no discharge of water through the left and flood canals.
Outflows from Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir was 58755 cusecs while the inflow is also at the same level. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains recorded in majority areas in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. Domestic appliances were short-circuited due to lightning in Ibrahimpur village of Turkapally mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
Traffic was stalled between Bibinagar and Bhudan Pochampally as Musi was overflowing. People were not allowed to travel over the low level bridge of Rudravelli to avoid any untoward incident.
