The state High Court on Wednesday asked that government pay Rs 50 lakh to the families of deceased who succumbed to dengue fever if failed to control the spread of dengue fever.
The state High Court on Wednesday asked that government pay Rs 50 lakh to the families of deceased who succumbed to dengue fever if failed to control the spread of dengue fever.
Chief Secretary SK Joshi, municipal chief secretary Aravind Kumar, GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Fever Hospital superintendent Shankar appeared before the court and explained the measures they have taken to control the fever and create awareness among the public.
However, the court which did not satisfy with the report vented out anger and asked the government to pay Rs 50 lakh as compensation to the dengue victims who succumbed to the fever if it failed to control the fever.
The court also asked the officials to pay a visit to Musi river to learn the situation. It further asked as what the government has done with its 30-day action plan.
