Patriotic fervour marks Independence Day fete

The 73rd Independence Day celebrations were held at Peedemul, Yalal, Bashirabad and Tandur on Thursday with patriotic vigour. The tricolour flag was unfurled in government offices and schools and sweets were distributed on the occasion.

MLA Rohit Reddy hoisted the national flag at government junior college. Students of various colleges took out rallies at gave slogans like 'Bharat Matha ki Jai'. Leaders of ABVP celebrated the event at Vivekananda statue near Shantamahal crossroads and also conducted 'Raksha Bandhan'. Government officials and political leaders participated in the event.
