Even though Jaipal Reddy had climbed greater heights in politics he never forgot his roots in the village. He used to visit his native place Madgul and used to interact with the people and used to move closely with everyone in his village.
"Today we have lost our great leader, the son of our soil. He had done a lot for the development of Madgul headquarters. Jaipal Reddy gave his own land for establishing a college for Madgul.
He had also brought Krishna river water to quench the thirst of the people of Madgul mandal," Mallareddy said. Not just Mallareddy, the other people in Madgul also remembered how Jaipal Reddy played an instrumental role in establishing a school for the students of Madgul mandal during his early stint as an MLA.
Jaipal Reddy has also set up a TV station and an electrical substation and served the locals by resolving their problems in Madgul and tried to develop his native place in all aspects. Jaipal Reddy served as Kalwakurthy MLA for four terms; he had also won as Member of Parliament for four terms and served as Central Minister during Congress rule in the country.
Till recently Jaipal Reddy played crucial role in Congress party and served the party in various capacities. The people of Madgul are demanding his body be brought to Madgul, so that the local people can have a last glimpse of their beloved leader. Not just Madgul, the people across erstwhile Mahbubnagar and political leaders cutting across different parties, expressed shock and condoled the sudden death of Jaipal Reddy.

Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy observed that Jaipal Reddy was not only a politician but also a philosopher. He said Jaipal Reddy was a straight-forward person and spoke without any fear and favour.
"In today's political environment where all top leaders are changing parties for their sustenance, Jaipal Reddy was not that kind of a politician, except during emergency he changed from Congress to Janata dal, however, later he again returned to Congress and till his death he served Congress party in different capacities. He is a great statesman and a great parliamentarian," the Agriculture Minister said.
