Officials gear up for Independence Day fete in Warangal
The Warangal Urban District has initiated efforts for the successful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements being made for the Independence Day.

He directed District Revenue Officer P Mohan Lal and Revenue Divisional Officer K Venkat Reddy to supervise the arrangements that are being made at the venue – Police Parade Grounds. He said that officials belonging to all district offices should attend the celebrations without fail. "A special register would be maintained to note the attendance of all district level officials at the venue," the Collector said, adding that the administration would not grant leave to any official on the I-Day.
He told the officials to arrange water supply and uninterrupted power supply at the venue besides installing waterproof tents. A 108 ambulance along with a team of doctors would be made available at the venue, he said. "Due to rains, it has been decided that not to display tableaus this time around, Patil said. However, stalls propagating welfare and developmental programmes implemented by various departments would be on display, he added.
He directed the officials to put up stalls disseminating information about Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Agro Forestry, Horticulture, Ban on pre-natal sex determination tests, Sakhi, Poshak Abhiyan, Mulkanoor Cooperative Dairy, Handlooms welfare etc. He also made a special mention to give impetus on Intinta Innovator, aimed at reaching out to every member of every household and encourage them to think of themselves as problem solvers. The arrangements for the distribution of assets would be made at their respective departments' stalls, Patil said.

The cultural activity should not exceed 20 minutes, he added.Patil directed Municipal Commissioner N Ravi Kiran to make lighting arrangements at the district collectorate, district court and other historic places.
