Nominations for Lok Sabha pick up pace
Warangal/Mahabubabad: Finally, the flow of nominations for the Warangal and Mahabubabad Parliament seats picked up pace on Friday.
With just one working day to go, i.e., March 25, as many as 10 nomination sets for Warangal Lok Sabha (SC-15) and five for the Mahabubabad (ST-16) were filed.
Congress nominee Dommati Sambaiah accompanied by ex-MLAs Konda Surekha and Kondeti Sridhar filed his papers with the Returning Officer (RO) Prashanth Jeevan Patil.
Bhupalpally and Warangal DCC presidents Gandra Jyothi and Naini Rajender Reddy were also present.
TRS candidate and the sitting MP Pasunuri Dayakar also filed his papers.
Although the Telugu Desam Party is yet to take a decision on participating in the elections, senior leader Hanmakonda Sambaiah filed his papers as the TDP nominee.
The others, who filed their papers are Chiluveru Prathap, Prabhakar Bokka, Aitha Praveen Kumar, Anil Kumar Gadepaka, Upender Jeripothula and Barigala Shiva.
Meanwhile, Maloth Kavitha, the TRS candidate for the Mahabubabad Parliament seat filed her nomination with the RO Ch Shivalingaiah.
She was accompanied by her father and Dornakal MLA DS Redya Naik, MLC Satyavathi Rathod, Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik.
Speaking to reporters, Kavitha expressed gratitude to TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for giving her the opportunity to contest from Mahabubabad Lok Sabha seat.
Referring to the proposal of Bayyaram steel factory, Kavitha asserted that she would exert pressure on Central government if she was elected.
She also assured to fight for achieving national status for the Medaram Jatara.
Congress candidate Porika Balram Naik also filed his papers.
He was accompanied by Mulugu MLA Seethakka alias Danasari Anasuya, former MLAs Vem Narender Reddy and Donthi Madhava Reddy.
In all, five nominations sets were filed for Mahabubabad Lok Sabha seat.
The others are Yerraiah Kalthi, Koram Venkateshwarlu and Bhukya Balu Naik, all independents.
It may be noted here that Monday is the last date for filing of nominations.
BJP candidates for Warangal and Mahabubabad Lok Sabha seats Chintha Samba Murthy and Hussain Naik are expected to file papers on Monday.
