Nizamabad: Collector C Narayana Reddy pays surprise visit to Corona isolation centre

Nizamabad: District Collector C Narayana Reddy has asked the isolation centre authorities to provide nutritious meals to Covid patients so that they can quickly recover from their illness.

On Thursday, the Collector visited the Covid-19 Isolation Centre and Primary Health Centre in Makloor. Speaking during his visit the District Collector said that steps should be taken to ensure that ambulances are always available at the isolation centre and directed the authorities to hire a private ambulance and make it available to patients during emergencies in case a government ambulance or 108 vehicle is not available.

The Collector also directed that atleast one doctor should always be available at the isolation centre. It was also directed by the Collector for steps to be taken to make 108 or private ambulances available to anyone who comes for quarantine. Reddy said that the workload will be distributed as the number of staff along with patients increase.

He further suggested the authorities to increase the number of beds as per the need and directed that as soon as the Centre receives a call, an ambulance should cater to the need immediately be it from any part of the district.

Reddy also said that the ambulance facility should also be provided to those going from the isolation centre. Sanitation at the isolation centre is said to require a little more care to keep it clean. Reddy directed the MPDO to plant saplings in the vacant space in front of the quarantine centre.

PHC Collector examined the rapid covid test kits and the doctors were instructed to make tests mandatory for those with Covid symptoms and to increase their daily checkup. "We are providing treatment with corona medicine at Nizamabad Government General Hospital and Hyderabad Private Hospital," the collector said.

The Collector was accompanied by Tahsildar Anjaneyulu, MPDO Chakriya Nayak, Sanjeeva Reddy, Panchayat raj AE and others.
