Nirmal: Farmers' welfare is the government's objective, stated Forest and Endowments Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy. He laid foundation stone for the construction of bus stop at Kondapur village under Nirmal rural mandal on Wednesday. Later, he inaugurated newly constructed gram panchayat building with an estimation cost of Rs 16 lakh along with Zilla Parishad Chairperson Koripelli Vijayalakshmi.

Addressing grama sabha organised on this occasion and also on National Farmers' Day, he felicitated village farmers and Pranaya and Pallavi, who got MBBS seats in government college. The Minister said the State government will introduce and implement many welfare schemes like nowhere else in the country.

Stating that the gram panchayat has completed construction of new building, graveyard and dumping yard in Kondapur village, he suggested to put in efforts to enhance greenery in the village.

Keeping in view farmers' welfare, the government will buy their produce, Minister Reddy said and added that the government has provided insurance (Rythu Bima) to them, 24-hour electricity, timely distribution of seeds etc. A 10-bedded dialysis centre also been set up at the district hospital. Innovative schemes like KCR Kit, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Aasara Pension would be of great benefit to the poor and weaker sections of the people, he added. Market Committee chairman Narmada Muthyamreddy, Mandala Parishad president Rameshwar Reddy, leaders Muralidhar Reddy, Satyanarayana Goud, Nalla Indrakaran Reddy, in-charge district revenue officer Rathod Ramesh, ZP CEO Sudhir, DRDO Venkateshwarlu, District Panchayat Officer Venkateswara Rao, Panchayati Raj EE Sankaraiah, village sarpanch Gangadhar, officials and others were present.

At another programme, Minister Indrakaran Reddy laid e foundation stone for a new fish market building at a cost of Rs 50 lakh at district headquarters. Speaking at a programme organised under the auspices of Fisheries Ministry, the Minister said Gangaputras should take advantage of government schemes to achieve economic development. He said efforts would be made to get an additional one crore of rupees for the fish market building.
