Hyderabad: A City-based NGO, No Food Waste, has come forward to help the people passing through the very difficult phase due to lockdown, by providing food packets, medicines, water bottles, grocery kits. The NGO has also taken the responsibility of feeding stray dogs.

Speaking to The Hans India, Venkat Murali, Telangana State Coordinator of No Food Waste, said, "Around 30 volunteers are supporting us in this mission and with the help of the two vans we are daily distributing food packets to needy across the twin cities. Every day, we are feeding around 3,500 people.

The food packets consist of rice, dal, curry, chutney, sambar, and curd. We also providing water bottles to the migrant labour who are walking in roads and we have distributed around 1,30,000 water packets, 15000 water bottles to them.

Also distributed rations kits to old age homes and to the slum dwellers.

In this mission, Rotary International, Swiggy, Ipack, Cyberabad Commissionarate, Hyderabad Police Stations and other like-minded people are supporting the NGO in helping the vulnerable sections, especially daily wage earners, senior citizens and vendors, added Venkat.
