Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, while taking part in an awareness and training programme held at MYS Meeting Hall in Wanaparthy on Tuesday, addressed the Mandal Parishad Presidents and Zilla Parishad Territorial Candidates, who have been elected recently.

Wanaparthy: Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, while taking part in an awareness and training programme held at MYS Meeting Hall in Wanaparthy on Tuesday, addressed the Mandal Parishad Presidents and Zilla Parishad Territorial Candidates, who have been elected recently. He had advised them to conduct meaningful discussions at the mandal-level and district-level local body meetings and take wise decisions keeping in view the larger interests of people and the society.

"People have elected us hoping that we will deliver services for their welfare and development. The MPPs and ZPTCs must utilise their time properly in the local body discussions and take wise decisions towards the development of the people," said the Minister.

The Agriculture Minister further added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had brought in the new Panchayat Raj Act to give more powers to local bodies. Very soon, the local bodies would also get more funds and this must be utilised in a better manner to speed up the development process.

The Minister created awareness about the new Panchayat Raj Act to the MPPs and ZPTCs and advised them to follow the Act and make the maximum use of the Constitution to seek more funds for the development of their respective regions.

Collector Sweta Mohanty, Zillah Parishad Chairman Lok Nath Reddy and others participated in the programme.
