The southwest monsoon has been normal over Telangana. Rain occurred at a few places in Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday, the Met department bulletin said.

Rain occurred at a few places in Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday, the Met department bulletin said. Kodangal in Vikarabad recorded 5 cm rainfall, while Tandur (Vikarabad), Yacharam (RR), Golkonda (Hyderabad), Hayathnagar (RR) received 2 cm each. There was 1 cm rain each in Doma, Medak, Peddemul, Hyderabad Airport, Shadnagar, Medak, Rajendranagar, Kondurg, Serilingampally and Shamirpet.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places across the State from October 11 to 14. No large change during the period October15-17 is the weather outlook. The rain is being caused by the upper air cyclonic circulation over the north Coastal Andhra and its neighbourhood which now lies over the coastal AP, the bulletin said.

The trough from the Comorin area to the cyclonic circulation over the north coastal AP and its neighbourhood now runs from the upper air cyclonic circulation over the Comorin area to the coastal AP across Tamil Nadu and Rayalseema. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the north Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Gangetic West Bengal-Odisha coasts.
