Meeting held to make Bhadrachalam plastic-free

Bhadrachalam: Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector Bhavesh Mishra stated that everyone should strive for a plastic-free society.

He conducted a meeting with traders and the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce at his office on Thursday.

Addressing the traders, he said to make the society plastic-free, the government has been conducting many programmes.

He urged the traders to shut the use of single-use plastics and instead encourage the use of cloth or paper bags. Stating that fines would be imposed on shops violating the rules, he ordered the Panchayat and revenue officials to conduct raids on the shops using plastics.
