Mahbubnagar: Excise Minister Srinivas Goud reiterated that as promised by the Telangana government, all the eligible journalists in Mahbubnagar district would get double bedroom houses.

Taking part in a programme to inspect 10 acres of land for the construction of double bedroom houses at Christianpally village on the outskirts of Mahbubnagar district headquarters, the Minister along with District Collector Ronald Rose took part in a review meeting with the district officials concerned and contractors and directed them to speed up the construction of double bedroom houses.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, "For the last few days, some journalist unions have been expressing apprehensions that the State government was not implementing its promise of providing double bedroom houses for the journalist.

This not true, and no one should be under the impression that the government is ignoring them. We are committed and as promised, we will provide all eligible journalists the double bedroom houses and there is no need to panic," reiterated the Minister.

Mahbubnagar takes the lead in urban plan implementation

With five days have already passed, the Mahbubnagar municipality and other urban areas in the district have taken the lead in successful implementation of the urban action plan programme.

Inspecting the cleanliness programmes launched in municipalities as part of the plan, Excise Minister Srinivas Goud along with District Collector Ronald Rose launched a mega cleanliness and sanitation programme in Sha Saheb Gutta, BK Reddy Colony and various other regions, where in more than 80 earthmovers and a large number of tractors were put into force to clear the thorny bushes in the open lands and plots.

The municipal authorities and the staff also took part in thr programme and cleared the overflowing drains, removed the heaps of garbage dumps from nooks and crannies of the colonies and made the roads clear of garbage and bushes.

The authorities also planted trees alongside the roads after clearing the unwanted bushes. Speaking on the occasion, the Excise Minister said that it is for the first time in the entire Telangana state that such a large scale cleanliness and sanitation programmes were being taken up in Mahbubnagar district.
