Mahbubabad: 3 interstate chain snatchers held
In a joint operation, the CCS and Mahabubabad police on Wednesday arrested three interstate chain-snatchers and recovered 87 grams of gold jewellery from them, the Superintendent of Police N Koti Reddy informed on Wednesday.
Mahbubabad: In a joint operation, the CCS and Mahabubabad police on Wednesday arrested three interstate chain-snatchers and recovered 87 grams of gold jewellery from them, the Superintendent of Police N Koti Reddy informed on Wednesday.
The chain snatchers were identified as Jatap Raj Kumar, Shubham Naik and Abhilash Vishwakarma of Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh. The trio along with another person Shubham Vishwakarma, who also belongs to Vidisha district, formed a gang and were resorting to chain snatching. Shubham Vishwakarma is presently lodged in Warangal Central Prison.
The gang so far involved in five chain snatchings in Hanamkonda, Kazipet, Mahbubabad and Khammam, according to the police. The Superintendent of Police N Koti Reddy commended the DSP A Naresh Kumar, CCS Inspector A Venkateshwar Rao, Mahbubabad Inspector and Sub-inspector S Ravi Kumar and Ch Arun Kumar who nabbed the accused. In another development, the Mahabubabad police arrested an inter-district thief Maloth Roop Lal of Lingya tanda under Balapala Gram Panchayat under Kuravi mandal. Roop Lal who is a habitual offender involved in two thefts since his release from the jail recently. The police arrested him during a vehicle check in the town.
