Mahabubabad: A special emphasis is being given to develop the temples across the State by the TRS government, Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod said. Speaking to the media at Kandagiri under Kuravi mandal on Tuesday after offering prayers at the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, she said that the government is keen to provide basic amenities in all shrines since K Chandrashekar Rao became the Chief Minister. She said the government, which also made adequate budgetary allocation to ensure Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyams in all temples, is trying to bring their past glory.
"KCR had already sanctioned Rs 1 crore for the construction of steps to Kandagiri hillock, the abode of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, and Dornakal MLA DS Redya Naik has laid foundation stone for it," Satyavathi said. However, there was a dire need for laying BT Roads leading to the hillock, she added. The Minister said that she would take the issue to the notice of the CM. This apart, safe drinking water would also be made available for the devotees at the hillock as early as possible, she said.
Referring to the Mission Bhagiratha, the flagship programme of the Telangana government to provide safe drinking water to all the households, Satyavathi heaped praise on KCR for initiating such a massive plan which hitherto no government in the country made it possible. "KCR has also brought cheer in the faces of farmers by taking up Kaleshwaram Lift irrigation Project (KLIP)," she said, stating that future is looking rosy for agriculture in the State.
She said that the government is also keen to ensure irrigation facility to tail-end areas under Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRPS) canal. She assured the local farmers to provide irrigation facility to every acre by constructing more check dams across the Munneru river. The Minister also participated in other programmes.
Mahabubabad Zilla Parishad Chairperson Angoth Bindu and MP Maloth Kavitha were among others present.
