With the government offering relaxations in unlock 1.0, the Telangana State Wakf Board has decided to hold a meeting soon with the religious scholars and heads of important mosques on the opening of masks across the state.
MA Hameed, Chief Executive Officer of TS Wakf board said that they are planning to open in the mosques adhering to physical distancing and other precautionary measures. So far, only five people were allowed inside the mosques across the state.
In the meeting, the mosques committees will be asked to make sure of physical distancing during the prayers, remove the carpets and sanitize the mosques after every namaz and provide soaps/hand wash in the mosque. As thousands of people visit Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on Fridays, it is a big task for the religious authorities to ensure physical distancing.
There are nearly 1000 mosques in the city. And the masjid committees have to make sure if the norms are being followed along with the precautions.
