Legislator praises communist leader’s services

Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy stated on Sunday that BR Bhagavan Das was a leader who truly implemented the slogans “The Earth belongs to the poor” and “The worker is the king” in practice. During the 95th birth anniversary celebrations of Das at Ashoka Junction, he and MLC Baswaraj Saraiah attended as chief guests. Along with senior communist leaders, corporators, and family members, they garlanded the statue of Das and paid rich tributes. Later the MLA praised Das as a great communist leader, trade union activist, and a strong supporter of the poor. ‘He was inherently a leader with great awareness of people’s issues. His activist life was a journey driven by democratic ideals. The struggles he undertook in support of LIC and banking sector workers and the principles he followed became a model for everyone’. He said Das stood as a pillar of the trade union movement; his fights for minimum wages, safety regulations, and service rights brought significant improvements in the living standards of many workers.
Reddy emphasised that movements must have clarity on people’s issues and said Das made continuous efforts to convey the true meaning of communism to the public. He remarked that the life of Das itself is a school; the path he showed still teaches us how to respond to people’s issues. ‘Moving forward in the direction of services he rendered for the poor is the true tribute to him’.
