Laxman condemns KCR's remarks on surgical strikes

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president K Laxman lashed out at TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his remarks on surgical strikes. The BJP leader alleged that KCR trusts more in what Masood Azhar, chief of a terrorist organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed, said on the Balakot Airstrikes and surgical strikes than the Indian forces.
Addressing media here on Saturday, K Laxman criticised KCR and alleged that he is taking the Pakistan narrative on the issue of surgical strikes and insulting the Indian forces by expressing doubts over the strikes.
He said that KCR claimed that several surgical strikes had been carried out during the UPA regime when he was the Union Minister. Then, why did UPA remain a mute spectator after the Mumbai terror attacks which shocked the entire world, Laxman questioned?
Laxman said not giving a befitting response to the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks has led to the menace of terror activities to spread to different parts of the country. Contrarily, the response given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government after Pulwama and Uri had confined the cross-border terror activities only to Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The State BJP chief criticised KCR for asking the youth to not go towards political Hindutva, during his Miryalaguda public meeting. Laxman pointed out that it has been the tradition at Bhadrachalam temple that State Chief Ministers go personally to present 'Talambralu' (during Sitharama Kalyanam) every year.
But, it seems secularism has come in the way as KCR broke the tradition and sent his grandson and still claim to be a real Hindu, Laxman questioned. Dismissing KCR's claims of being a real Hindu on account of performing Yagnas, Laxman said, "even Ravana and other Raksha's performer Yagnas. But, they did so for their selfish interests but not for the wellbeing of the world. Similarly, KCR too performs Yagnas for his selfish interest," he added.
The BJP chief also warned the TRS chief against insulting Hindus and their feelings on the issue of construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, as it will have consequences, Hindus will not hesitate to politically bury TRS, he said.
Appealing people of the State to liberate Telangana from a single-family rule, Laxman said, voting for TRS candidates will only help their MLAs, MLCs and MPs serving the interest of a single family. He asked people to defeat all the TRS candidates so that KCR would leave his farmhouse and Pragati Bhavan and attend his duties at the State Secretariat.
He said that the defeat of three TRS MLC candidates, successful conduct of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting at Mahbubnagar and poor response to his public meetings has shaken the TRS chief. The revolt of 244 red jowar and turmeric farmers filing nominations for Nizamabad parliament constituency is another example of winds blowing against the TRS and its governance, he pointed out.
The State BJP chief said that his party has emerged as the only alternative to take on the TRS misrule in Telangana.
He also pointed out that people in both the Telugu States are fed up with the marathon and stereotyped political rhetoric of both KCR and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He said TRS working president K T Rama Rao and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao are fighting an identity crisis.
